Growing up in today's world is challenging. Everyone experiences difficult situations at some time in their life. It may be a family issue, difficulty in school, cultural and community challenges, or unexpected trauma. When life gets difficult, families may need professional intervention to navigate the challenges in their world. Here at Haven Professional Counseling, our goal is to listen to the needs of your family, meet you where you are, and enable you to get to a better place through individual and family counseling approaches as well as coaching interventions.

Kelli Redfoot, M.S., L.P.C.

Kelli Redfoot is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in 2013. Kelli earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Grove City College in 2009. She has over 10 years of experience serving and treating individuals and families as a family preservation caseworker, behavioral therapist in the community and school settings, and an outpatient therapist in residential treatment and outpatient settings. Kelli is passionate in helping children, teenagers, individuals, and families learn, grow, and become the best version of themselves. Kelli's counseling approach utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Animal Therapy, and a Family Systems approach. She believes that healing is a life style change that encompasses the mind, body, and spirit. Kelli lives with her husband and their three beloved fur babies in Grove City
Jodi Abbey-Hines, M.Ed., L.P.C
Jodi is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience with children, adolescents, and families who are dealing with mental health, behavioral, and life situation issues. Throughout her years of experience, Jodi has worked in a variety of settings including residential treatment, outpatient community mental health, in-home treatment, school based interventions, and crisis / emergency services. Jodi specializes in working with trauma and attachment issues utilizing CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) approaches.
Jodi graduated from Youngstown State University where she earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Education. She resides in Grove City with her husband and two sons.
Brittany Makin, MSW, LSW, CSAYC

Brittany obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in children, youth and families from Indiana University Indianapolis and her undergrad degrees in Social Work and Addictions Counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University. Brittany joins our team from Indiana, where she has gained experience working in addiction counseling settings, anti-human trafficking, and teenage mental health, specifically related to sexual abuse. Brittany worked at a residential treatment facility as a “live in” parent for teen girls struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and poor behavioral management. After her time at the residential facility, she worked for a non-profit to educate communities about human trafficking and to work with the survivors. Once her graduate degree was complete, Brittany returned to the residential facility, this time, to work with teenage boys who had sexual offenses.
She attended the Dr. John Townsend Leadership Program, where she trained in his Character Based Growth Paradigm. She utilizes this model in addition to CBT and TF-CBT throughout her therapeutic work. Brittany is especially passionate about working with teens, empowering women, and helping those who have experienced sexual trauma. It is her belief that everyone should be allowed to live in the fullness and freedom that healing can bring.
She partners with her husband in his field of working with college students; they enjoy sports and board games together, and she enjoys exercising, crafting, and baking.
Michele Mapes, MS
Michele is passionate about supporting the social-emotional growth and development of young children and their families by offering support and guidance to families and professionals. She believes that supporting early attachment relationships are instrumental in building resiliency and in promoting the growth and success of every child. She is a trained facilitator in Circle of Security® Parenting and is working toward her Endorsement as an Infant Family Specialist. She obtained her MS from Chatham University in Infant Mental Health and her BA in Psychology from Allegheny College. She has extensive training and experience in child development with an emphasis on pregnancy through age 6. Her 20 years of work experience include serving young children and their families in childcare, preschool and home visitor settings. Michele is available to provide Circle of Security® Parenting sessions to parents in an individual or group setting. She also provides Reflective Supervision/Consultation to professionals in the early childhood field, such as Early Intervention professionals, Early Head Start parent educators, and Early Learning professionals. Michele resides in Mercer County with her husband and two teenage children.
Becky Samsa, MA
Becky Samsa has a MA in Counseling Services from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1988, and a BS in Psychology with a minor in Religion from Marywood University in 1984. She also has additional training in Foster / Respite Care. She has experience counseling teens and families as well as within a variety of ministries over the years. In addition to being a counselor at Haven Professional Counseling, Becky has experience as a camp counselor, counselor within a partial hospitalization program, and as a counselor at a residential treatment facility for delinquent and dependent youth.
Becky is passionate about art, music, and humor and looks for opportunities to incorporate these practices into her daily life and therapy practice. She will be accepting clients childhood (10+) through adulthood who are struggling with grief and loss, depression, and anxiety. Becky feels her calling is to facilitate restored hope in lives and help her clients connect with the source of Hope and Truth, Jesus Christ.
Jennifer Thumm, M.A., L.P.C., NCC

Jennifer Thumm is a Licensed Professional Counselor who launched Haven Professional Counseling, LLC in 2017. She earned her master's degree from Geneva College with a concentration in Marriage and Family Counseling, and a certificate in Special Education in 2010. Jennifer received her undergraduate degree in 1999 from Edinboro University in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. She is passionate about working with children, teens, and families, doing so in various settings over the past 20 years including teaching, early intervention services, and behavioral and outpatient mental health. Jennifer’s counseling approach utilizes CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), a Family systems approach, as well as TF-CBT (Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Jennifer believes in an approach that works toward health and restoration in the families that she serves using a bio-psycho-social-spiritual approach. She resides in Mercer County, PA with her husband and three sons. She is an active member of Grove City Alliance Church.
Anna Stillwaggon, BA
Anna earned a BA in Psychology from Grove City College. She plans to pursue an MA in Marriage and Family Counseling from Liberty University in fall 2019. Her goal is to become a licensed Marriage and Family Counselor. She worked with women in crisis at the Alpha Omega Pregnancy Center in Slippery Rock and the Tower of Hope in Beaver Falls. As a past youth leader for high school students at the Grove City Alliance Church and as a camp counselor at Seneca Hills Bible Camp, she also has experience counseling children and teens. Anna believes, as a Christian, that her calling is to build stronger families by being an insightful counselor who guides individuals towards the wholeness that is found in Jesus Christ. Anna resides in Grove City with her Shih Tzu, Emmylou, and in her spare time she enjoys reading memoirs, indulging in Mexican food, and venturing outside for a hike with friends.
Kate McEwan, MS
Kate McEwan has a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University and a BS in Psychology from St. Joseph’s University. She is certified in the Prepare/Enrich marriage curriculum and is also certified as a Child Welfare Counselor. Over the past seven years, Kate has worked in a variety of settings including, residential treatment, school based behavioral therapy, emergency shelters, and outpatient programs. She is passionate about working with individuals who struggle with addiction and believes in a holistic approach to treatment (mental, physical, emotional and spiritual). Her main focus is working with clients on relapse prevention, support systems and family dynamics as well as addictive thought patterns. In addition, Kate has extensive experience in Child Welfare and is trained in trauma informed care, specifically trust based relational intervention (TBRI). Kate resides in Mercer County with her husband and two daughters.
Brian Murray, BA
Brian has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Addiction Counseling and Professional Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands, looking to become a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. He has experience working with juveniles in a variety of settings, to include clinical, outdoor and adventure based counseling. He has held positions as a counselor, therapeutic intervention specialist, and has also facilitated group sessions. As a Christian, Brian is devoted to his faith and has a passion for helping people, especially those who suffer from addictions and substance abuse.
Brian resides in Mercer county, PA with his wife, and enjoys spending time with his family and outdoors.
Megan Reuber, MA
Megan’s passion is to see individuals and communities thrive. From Skid Row, Los Angeles to rural West Africa, Megan’s years of cross-cultural work have given her practical experience and insight into human motivation and transformation. After 4 years of working in community development overseas, she has returned to her Western Pa roots to build into the lives of individuals. Through a coaching relationship and utilizing the strengths of the individual, Megan walks alongside clients to meet them right where they’re at so that they may understand and achieve their goals, deepen self-awareness, and live into their potential. She believes that everyone is made in the image of a personal, loving God and, as a result, has unique gifts and vital contributions to share with families, workplaces, and entire communities.
She enjoys meaningful conversation, traveling the world, and loving others by offering them the same freedom that she has come to know in Christ.
Megan received her M.A. in Anthropology from Biola University after studying Christian Thought & French at Grove City College. She is working towards coaching certification through the International Coaching Federation and will begin a counseling degree in 2019.
